The kidnap of 110 students from a school in Yobe State is a “national disgrace”, a CNN anchor and correspondent, Isha Sesay, has said.

Last Monday, in a raid similar to the attack that led to the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok on 14 April 2014, Nigeria’s dreaded terrorist group had stormed Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe State and made away with 110 pupils.

President Muhammadu Buhari described the incident as a “national disaster” and vowed that his government would rescue the girls from captivity.

But, in series of tweets, Isha Sesay disagrees. She argues that the President’s description is an understatement and “doesn’t cut it” because it shifts blame and responsibility from the government

She said, “#Nigeria’s President #Buhari calls abduction of #DapchiGirls “a national disaster.” That’s an understatement – it’s a national disgrace. More girls taken – again?? #Yobe #ChibokGirls.
