Hundreds of Muslims, including the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, on Friday offered special prayers for peace and stability in Kano and Nigeria.
The prayer, organised by the Kano State Government in conjunction with the Kano Emirate Council, was attended by Imams of all Juma’at Mosques in the state.
It featured the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by special prayers for Allah’s intervention to bring about lasting peace and stability.
Those who attended the special prayer included members of the State House of Assembly, executive council, members of Emirate Council and Islamic scholars.
Kano state was created from the former Northern region on May 27, 1967.
