Rivers State governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has denied the rumour that he impregnated the daughter of the Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and also divorced his wife.
Amaechi who spoke during a media parley in Government House, Port Harcourt, said the rumour was the handiwork of his adversaries who he claimed were always looking for every opportunity to bring him down.
He wondered why people would peddle such a heinous rumour about him and his family, stressing that part of the calculation was aimed at straining the robust relationship between him and the Nobel laeureate.
He insisted that he will remain in the All Progressives Congress because he has long discovered that the Peoples Democratic Party, would not allow him to fulfill his obligations to the people of the state as their duly elected governor.
