Senator Monday Okpebholo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2024 Edo governorship election, has demanded justice for his Police orderly who was killed by suspected political thugs in Benin City.
On Thursday, Philip Shaibu, impeached but reinstated deputy governor’s convoy came under gun attack in Benin City, capital of Edo State, after he returned from Abuja
Shaibu was in company of the Governorship Candidate of Okpebholo, when the assailants struck and killed the policeman in their convoy.
In a condolence message, the APC governorship candidate, said he would not rest until the perpetrators of the attack are brought to justice.
Okpebholo, in a statement signed by his Legislative Aide on Media & Communication, Godswill Inegbe, said, the Senator empathised with the injured members of his convoy receiving treatments in various hospitals in Benin City.
“I am saddened and heartbroken about the tragic killing of Inspector Akor Onu. He was a good policeman, one of the finest in the Nigeria Police Force.
“Inspector Onu was unreservedly committed to his assigned duty, and due to his exceptional commitment and effective policing we became friends for over 12 years,” he said.
