Former deputy governor of Enugu State, Sunday Onyebuchi, has been redeployed to the Enugu State civil service.
Onyebuchi was a staff of the Enugu State Civil Service before his appointment to political office.
However, the source, who did not wish to be named, did not disclose the particular ministry, department or agency of the government to which Onyebuchi was redeployed, neither was his current rank in the service disclosed.
However, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sullivan Chime, Chukwudi Achife, confirmed Onyebuchi’s redeployment via a text message that reads “Former Deputy Governor Onyebuchi has been redeployed to the State Civil Service where he was serving before being appointed to a higher political office.”
Meanwhile, the new Deputy Governor, Reverend Raphael Ifeanyichukwu Nwoye on Monday took his oath of office administered by the Chief Judge, Justice Innocent Umezirike.
The event which took place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Enugu attracted top government functionaries in the state as well as traditional rulers from Nkanu East local government area.
Reverend Nwoye was cleared last Thursday by the House.
