Abdullahi Ganduje, national chair of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the row over Kogi’s replacements in the national working committee (NWC) will be resolved.

Ganduje spoke on Thursday after a meeting behind closed doors with Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, at his residence in Abuja.

The national leadership of the APC had named Duro Meseko and Ikani Shuaibu Okolo as deputy national publicity secretary and zonal organising secretary respectively.

But the leadership of the party in Kogi said the aforementioned names are “strange” because it had ratified Yahaya Ade Ismail as the new deputy national publicity secretary and Isiaka Musa as zonal organising secretary.

The former governor of Kano described the row as “democracy in action”.

“This is democracy in action. This is an internal problem but I assure you that it will be resolved and it will be a win-win,” Ganduje said.

“We are already together. There are people in the office and we are here to dialogue. Very soon, we will be in Kogi state and we will spend some days.”

He described Bello as a “hard working young man” who would ensure that APC wins the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi.

On his part, the Kogi governor said Ganduje has the “innovation” that would enable APC win its off-cycle elections.
