President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday upturned the political chess game as he appointed Brig-General Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa (rtd.) as his Chief of Staff.
Arogbofa’s appointment was described by political analysts as a master stroke by president Jonathan as his choice beats all permutations by pundits.
Until the announcement, the rumour mill had touted names like Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman of Daar Communications Plc as top contender for the job.
Curiously, Arogbofa’s name did not feature in any of the permutations of likely successors to Mike Ogiadomhe, who was last week Tuesday relieved of his appointment.
Presidential spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati said the appointment takes immediate effect.
