The Kano State Youth and Stakeholders Council at the weekend endorsed the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, for the presidency in the 2015 general election.
A statement made available to our correspondent in Kano revealed that the council deliberated on who to support for 2015, noting that: “The track record of Okorocha in chosen areas of development qualified him ahead of others.”
The statement which was signed by Ambassador Bashir Bello Roba, noted that: “We wish to draw the attention of other Nigerians that if truly hard work and purposeful leadership are considerable basis to contest for the highest political office in the country, Okorocha is the best qualified man for the top job in 2015.
“Okorocha candidacy signalled hope and purposeful governance for all class of the society, and therefore challenged well meaning Nigerians to identify and help nurture the project successfully for the benefit of all.”
It stated that Okorocha had demonstrated and made available dividends of democracy not only to the indigenes of his state, but to all Nigerians.
The statement added that: “Okorocha free education policy at all levels stands him out as a true Nigerian.
The council therefore pledged their unalloyed support for the Imo State governor whom they described as the ‘Senior Advocate of the Masses’, stressing that he is what the country deserves now to change their fortune for good.
Meanwhile, the council has revealed plan to link like minds across the country for the national assignment, saying: “We can no longer remain passive for pretenders to take the shot.”
