Another member of the House of Representatives, Ina Usman, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress on the floor of the House on Wednesday.
Usman, who is from Kogi State, blamed alleged “crisis” in the state chapter of the party for his action.
But, findings showed that he failed to secure a return ticket to the House in 2015 on the platform of the PDP.
Usman’s defection brought to six the number of PDP lawmakers who had defected to other parties within 24 hours in the House, beginning from Tuesday.
The defection helped to raise the numerical strength of the APC back to where it was before five members left its fold on Tuesday to join the Social Democratic Party.
The APC is back to its 154 membership strength.
When the five members left on Tuesday, it dropped to 149, but quickly rebuilt to 153 after four of the five members, who left the PDP, joined it on the same day.
With the inclusion of Usman on Wednesday, the number rose back to I54.
However, the PDP is still in control of the majority with 191 members, having lost six members since Tuesday from 197.
