Kwara Assembly passes Arabic Education Board bill

The Kwara House of Assembly on Wednesday passed a bill for the amendment of the State Arabic Education Board Law and Related Matters.

The bill was passed after a thorough consideration and clause by clause of some amendments effected during the plenary.

The bill, which was sent to the House by Gov. AbdulFatah Ahmed in Feb. 2014, was passed after the House adopted the report of its Committee on Education and Human Capital Development.

Reading the report of the committee, the Committee Chairman, Hajia Nimota Ibrahim (APC, llorin East Constituency), said that all the stakeholders were in support of the clauses amended in the law.

The Deputy Speaker, Prof. Gana Yisa, who presided over the plenary, directed the Clerk, Oyetunde Oyeniyi, to read the bill for the third time before the final passage.

Yisa directed the clerk to make a clean copy for the assent of the governor.
