Lagos Head of Service tasks civil servants on hard work, diligence

The Lagos State Head of Service (HoS), Olabowale Ademola, has tasked civil servants to renew their commitment to hard work and embrace diligence in discharging their primary responsibilities.

The HoS gave the task at a Send Forth / End of Year party organised for staff in the Public Service Office as well as retirees at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium.

She said that, civil servants in the State can only justify the confidence reposed in them through efficient service delivery that impacts positively on the State and its residents.

She enjoins all public servants in the State to continue to strive hard and support the programmes, projects and objectives of the present administration, saying that “the reward of hard work is more work”.

While recognizing and appreciating the present administration’s commitment to the welfare of retirees and those in active service in the State, Ademola commended the retirees for serving meritoriously in various capacities and urged them to aim for the best in their future endeavour.

She prayed that God will grant them good health to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Former Head of Service, Oluseyi Williams who graced the occasion advised Civil Servants present at the occasion to aim for the best and with determination deliver selfless service, adding that, God will surely crown their efforts with success.

Mathew Dosunmu, a former Deputy Director, who spoke on behalf of the retirees, appreciated the kind gesture bestowed on them by the office and also thanked the State government for providing the enabling environment for them to serve.

A total number of Seven members of staff comprising of four senior and three junior officers were presented with award certificates and gifts by the Head of Service, while others were encouraged to emulate the awardees and not relent in their efforts in promoting a diligent workforce.
