The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a N50, 000 increase in the 2014 hajj fare.
The increment which was announced at the weekend during the flag off of the weekend induction courses for intending pilgrims in all local government councils in the state, is said to be at the instance of the National Hajj Commission.
With the increment, each intending pilgrims would now pay N740, 000 excluding the initial N10, 000 paid for the hajj form.
It would be recalled that each intending pilgrim was initially asked to pay N690, 000 covering cost of air fare, local transportation and feeding.
The additional fee is expected to be paid in between August 5 and 12 into the Skye Bank Account of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
