As part of efforts to reduce parent’s financial burden, the Lagos State Government through the State’s Scholarship Board has concluded plans to organize the 2015/2016 session bursary interviews for students of Lagos State indigene in tertiary institutions across the country who have obtained the application forms.
A statement signed by the Director, Lagos State Scholarship Board, Omauton Yetunde Jegede, said Governor Akinwunmi Ambode approved that the Bursary interviews hold in specific zones across the country and also at the five Divisions of the State.
In Kaduna State, the interview is expected to hold on October 5th and 6th 2015 at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, while in Rivers State; the interview will hold on October 6th and 7th 2015 at University of Port-Harcourt, Choba, Rivers State.
The interview will also hold in Kwara State at the University of Ilorin from October 12th to 13th. Similarly, the interview will hold in Abuja from 17th to 18th of November at Nigerian Law School, Abuja as well as in Akure, Ondo State at the Federal University of Technology, Akure on 1st and 2nd of December.
For the Lagos Zone, Jegede said that the interviews will hold at St. Georges’ Primary School, Falomo, Lagos Island (for Lagos Division) and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education, Noforija, Epe (for Epe Division) on 14th and 15th October, 2015.
The interview for Badagry Division will hold on 20th and 21st October at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, while that of Ikeja and Ikorodu divisions will hold on 26th and 27th October, 2015 at Government College, Agege beside NYSC Orientation Camp, Agege (for Ikeja Division) and Oriwu College, Ikorodu (for Ikorodu Division).
Jegede further enjoined all applicants to attend the interview in zones closer to them adding that any applicant who wishes to attend the interview in Lagos Zone should go to their respective divisions for the exercise. The Lagos State Government annually conducts the bursary interviews to determine the indigeneship claim of applicants who must be full time students in various tertiary institutions before awards are given.
The bursary award ranges between N20,000, N30,000 and N50,000 depending on the course of study.
