Four Saudis have died and two more were infected with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, MERS coronavirus in Riyadh on Thursday.

The dead are a 72-year-old woman and three men aged 33 to 80, announced the Health Ministry.

The two new cases include a 14-year-old boy and a 63-year-old male health care worker.

Since June 2012, the total number of MERS cases in the Kingdom has reached 1,242, which includes 528 deaths. The number of recovered patients stands at 665, and those currently under treatment in various parts of the Kingdom are 49.

The ministry’s guidelines stress washing hands regularly with water and soap or disinfectant, especially after coughing and sneezing; using handkerchiefs when coughing or sneezing, then disposing of them in a wastebasket.
