The National Chairman, People Democratic Party (PDP),  Dr. Ahmed Muazu, has promised to ensure a level-playing field for all party members in the forthcoming 2015 elections.

Muazu made the pledge in Bauchi at a civic reception organised in his honour by the Bauchi State Government.

He noted that although he had a short time-frame to properly position the party before the 2015 elections, he was optimistic that if justice, fairness and equity prevailed within the party, PDP would emerge victorious.

“PDP shall regain its glory if there is justice, fairness and equity entrenched by ensuring a level-playing field for all members aspiring for elective positions, as well as appointments,” Muazu said.

He said he would equally ensure that he reconciled all the aggrieved members and bring back defectors, so as to move the party forward.

“One of the main task ahead of me as the national chairman of the party, is to ensure that all our members who defected to the opposition party, returned to PDP, “he added.

He however advised all aspirants wishing to contest elections within the party, to go back to their wards and get the support of the people at the grassroots.

He solicited for the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in the state, the North-East zone, and the country at large, for success to be achieved.

“We must pray for him if we want him to succeed. If he succeeds as the National Chairman of our dear party, Jonathan will succeed as our president.

“The prayer is for us to work together and strengthen our relationship. As such, we must wish him well because if we don’t, being his kinsmen, nobody will,” Yuguda stated.
