The song by OELA from Nigeria, featuring Miracle and Exceptional Dan was inspired by the need to understand that suffering in Africa and many other parts of the world is not destined, neither a cross to bear, but due to a wrong mindset about who we are.
OELA, in the song takes the world through a journey of self-consciousness about injustice that breeds suffering, but assures that it should not be that way if people know who they are in the context of what to do, their duties to fellow human beings in a world where lack and abundance live side by side.
LYRICS OF SUFFERING NO MORE
What a world?
What a life?
What a country?
What about me?
Every time, every day, every night, people are talking about injustice
Injustice that breeds suffering in the world
People complain about lack and limitation
Stagnation, no job, no food, no light, no house, no money to spend!
People are yearning for freedom and justice
While blaming the rich and the authority for their woes
Could suffering have been destined? No
Could it have been a cross to bear? No
With lack and abundance living side by side, we can exchange our pains for joys if only we know
What a world?
What a life?
What a country?
What about me?
Every time, every day, every night, people are talking about injustice
Suffering is real!
But why should it stay when it doesn’t have a life?
The authority and the successful get all the knocks for others’ lacks
As they see life in the right principle of God to prosper
And they prosper and prosper at the bewilderment of the poor
Could suffering have been destined? No
Could it have been a cross to bear? No
With lack and abundance living side by side, we can exchange our pains for joys if only we know
Only a convergence of belief in the truth by all will save this world
To have a world of abundance for all with no limit to possibilities
By choice, I don’t want to suffer any more
My life could not have been an accident
I want to seek and know my purpose
I refuse to be angry and suffer as I replace the lacks in my mind with all the precious and pleasant riches of the world.
