The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Michael Ikpoki, and the Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Akinwale Goodluck, have been forced out of the company.

Their sack, according to sources, was in reaction to the N1.04 trillion fine imposed on the company by the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC.

The forced resignation of Ikpoki and Goodluck was part of the moves by MTN Nigeria to reposition the company sequel to the fine imposed by NCC on it for failure to disconnect unregistered lines.

The company immediately announced replacements for the two men.
Coming in as CEO is Ferdi Moolman, while Amina Oyagbola is the new Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs.

The company, after several warning by the NCC, was fined N1.04 trillion for failing to disconnect 5.2 million unregistered SIM cards.

The industry regulators in Nigeria have said the fine is not negotiable but waiting for a final position on the issue by President Muhammadu Buhari.
