NAN Editor holds Fidau for late mum

The final fidau prayers for Alhaja Risikat Ajoke Balogun, mother of Abdur-Rahman Balogun, an Assistant Editor-In-Chief with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), will hold on Saturday Oct. 17.

Alhaja Balogun passed on peacefully in her son‘s residence in Ibadan on Friday June 5, at the age of 80 and was buried according to Islamic tenets in her Lagos residence on June 6.

In a statement issued by the deceased eldest child, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said the final Fidau prayers will hold at NAN Media Event Centre, National Theatre Iganmu, Lagos on Saturday Oct. 17.

Balogun said some Islamic clerics from Ibadan, Lagos and Ogun states as well as family members and friends are slated to grace the prayers.

The late Alhaja Balogun, a.k.a Alhaja Temitope was born in Oko Olomi in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State in 1935.

She was survived by six children and 19 grandchildren, among whom is Abdur-Rahman Balogun, an Assistant Editor- In- Chief with NAN.

Balogun said in his tributes, “our mother had a fulfilled life: she witnessed the successes of her children, nieces, nephews and arrival and excellent performances of some of her grandchildren.

“Maami was a very active, loving, caring, kind-hearted, religious and ever ready to help anybody including her family members. I will surely miss her,” Balogun said.
