A clash between officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and some suspected illegal drug dealers in the Sabo area of Owode, Ogun State, on Sunday has left casualties on both sides.
An eyewitness said the illegal drug dealers confronted the NDLEA officials when they wanted to arrest them, leading to a shootout between the hoodlums and officials of the anti-narcotic agency.
The eyewitness said, “Some of NDLEA officials lost their lives in the shootout and some of the suspected drug dealers too suffered the same fate.”
The state commander of the NDLEA, Bala Fagge, confirmed that some of his men died in the incident but he could not give the exact number of casualties.
Fagge said he was grieving on the death of his men and he would not want to comment further on the matter.
