A former Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Justice Niki Tobi, is dead.
Born on July 14, 1940, Tobi, who was known for his brilliance as a judge, died last Thursday at 75 and would have been 76 in July.
His corpse is said to have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Garki, in Abuja.
The late jurist who joined the Supreme Court bench in 2002, retired as a Justice of the apex court on July 14, 2010, on attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70.
He was born in Esanma, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was, earlier before his appointment as a jude, the Dean of Faculty of Law and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Services), University of Maiduguri.
