The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy conditions over the central states of the country on Monday with prospects of localised thundery activities over Lokoja, Makurdi, Ilorin, Lafia and Abuja.
NiMet which gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office on Sunday in Abuja, added that the region would have day and night temperature of 38 to 40 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted the southern states would experience cloudy morning over inland and coastal cities with day and night temperatures of 35 to 38 and 23 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Lagos, PortHarcourt, Yenegoa Eket, Calabar, Owerri, Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Akure, Osogbo Ibadan and Ijebu-Ode during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny conditions with day and night temperatures of 38 to 42 and 18 and 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Sunny skies are expected over the northern region while partly cloudy with chances of localised thundery activities are anticipated over the central region.
“Cloudy condition with prospects of localized thunderstorms are expected over the southern cities,’’ NiMet predicted.
