The immediate past Caretaker Chairman, Ibadan North-West Local Government area in Oyo state, Wasiu Olatunbosun has promised his support for Oyo state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to actualise its dreams.
Olatunbosun who gave the assurance while hosting members of the state council of the union during the Ramadan Iftar (Fast breaking) in his residence in Ibadan, the state capital promised to support the union’s activities including contributing “heavily” for the sponsoring of delegates to the forthcoming NUJ delegates conference.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), stalwart in the state while enumerating the feats recorded by the present administration in the state also assured that the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, would fulfil his campaign promises to the people despite serving a second term in office.
The former council boss described the governor as a man of integrity who would reciprocate the gesture of the people by delivering on his promises.
Olatunbosun also lauded the people who made the second term bid of the governor including artisans, traders, opinion molders, religious organization and professional bodies possible, and promised that they would not be disappointed for appreciating the governor’s exemplary leadership qualities, which made him broke the second term jinx.
He promised that he would continue to identify with various organizations and the needy so as to ease the suffering of the masses.
In his remarks, 0yo NUJ chairman, Gbenga Opadotun lauded 0latunbosun for his masses-oriented projects when he was the council caretaker chairman and urged him not to rest on his oars in identifying with the needy in his domain.
Opadotun noted that the exercise (Fast breaking with members and stakeholders in the state) and other activities during the yearly Ramadan month was part of his administration’s plan to promote religious tolerance, unity, togetherness and brotherhood among members of the union which is yielding fruitful results.
