Most Rev. Ernest Obodo, the Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu Diocese, at the weekend commended Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, for his standout initiatives, particularly in healthcare and education sectors nationwide.

The Bishop praised Obi during his visit to Dominic Healthcare Centre, Obinofia Ndiagu, Enugu State, where he presented a N10 million cheque to equip the newly constructed health center.

Bishop Obodo highlighted Obi’s steadfast commitment to nationwide healthcare and education, emphasizing his consistent support both in and out of office, underscoring Obi’s enduring dedication to national development through investments in crucial human development sectors.

“Two years ago, when we informed Mr. Peter Obi about our plan to construct a primary healthcare center in Obinofia Ndiagu Community, he promptly provided the financial support to initiate the project. Now that we’ve completed the hospital building, he has graciously decided to visit and aid us in furnishing the hospital. We are truly grateful to him.

“Peter Obi comprehends the crucial significance of this primary healthcare Centre  for the community, where access to healthcare was previously unavailable. He has generously provided us with a N10 million cheque to assist in equipping the hospital to ensure quality healthcare delivery to the people. May God continually bless him,” expressed Bishop Obodo.

While presenting the cheque to Dominic Hospital’s Management in Obinofia Ndiagu, Obi emphasized the vital role of primary healthcare in a nation’s progress, expressing his interest in supporting the hospital upon learning about the community’s lack of basic healthcare access.

He reiterated his satisfaction in contributing to national development by investing in crucial human development sectors and expressed gratitude to the Enugu Diocese for initiating the health center construction, urging other voluntary organizations to follow suit.
