The crisis rocking the Ogun Assembly took on a new dimension on Friday night with the impeached Speaker, Hon. Kunle Oluomo, declaring that he remains the Speaker.
Oluomo representing Ifo State Constituency 1, was sacked from office on Tuesday by 18 lawmakers over alleged gross misconduct, with Hon. Oludaisi Elemide elected to replace him.
However, Oluomo broke his silence on the impeachment saga, declaring the action of the 18 lawmakers “unconstitutional, null, void, and of no effect whatsoever.”
The embattled Oluomo, who addressed reporters in his Legislative Quarters residence, Ibara GRA Abeokuta, on Friday, informed reporters that he has approached the court for adjudication on the matter.
