The Chairman, Senate Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Affairs, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, APC, Ondo South, has described the Saturday, April 20, 2024, primary election by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to get the gubernatorial candidate as a mega fraud.

Addressing journalists Tuesday in Abuja, Senator Ibrahim, who was one of the gubernatorial aspirants in Ondo State, noted that there was no election as he could not vote for himself as materials were not made available.

Senator Ibrahim, who purportedly came in fourth in the election, said the primary election conducted by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was the biggest electoral fraud in Nigeria and must not be allowed to stand in the interest of internal party democracy.

Ibrahim has approached the High Court, calling on the Court to delist the APC from participating in the general election slated for November this year.

He added that electoral frauds were well captured ward by ward and local government by local government, in the reports obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , which clearly show that elections did not hold in 159 out of 203 wards and 15 out of 18 local government councils in the state.

According to him, the fraud was so appalling that even as one of the contestants in the election , he was unable to vote , which made him call the National Chairman of the party , Abdullahi Umar Ganduje , who, according to him, sent some electoral officers to his house for him to cast his vote.

“However, since my house is not a designated polling unit or centre for the election , I turned down the offer of the electoral officers,” he said.

Consequently, according to him, he has litigated against the mega fraud , called primary election, by the National Working Committee ( NWC) of APC, as carried out by Governor Usman Ododo and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, explaining that the litigation was initiated within the time frame prescribed by relevant provisions of the 2022 electoral act , and would be sustained up to the Supreme Court.

He said, “Two clear prayers are being sought in  court as far as mega fraud called Ondo APC Gubernatorial Primary Election is concerned.

“The two prayers are (i), that the sham carried out on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 , should be cancelled for fresh one to be conducted and (ii) , for delisting of APC from Ballot in the November 2024 Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State.”
