The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, has urged wealthy Nigerians to emulate the lifestyle of late Okunade Sijuwade and assist the less privileged.
The Ooni said that late Sijuwade used his life to serve God and humanity.
He gave the charge at the dedication of a building at the College of Environmental Design and Management Studies in memory of late Sijuwade at Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Ile-Ife, on Saturday.
He said that numerous wealthy people were keeping billions of naira in banks devaluating everyday, while thousands were suffering to make their daily meals.
The royal father, who, said that late Ooni lived a successful live by transforming many lives, called on well-meaning Nigerians to assist people in need.
He called on parents to invest in the education of their children so as to make their lives relevant in the future.
According to him, education is the best legacy parents can give to their children.
Earlier, Chief Adegoke Adedoyin, the President of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Ile-Ife, said that late Sijuwade was the former Chancellor of the institution.
Adedoyin, Maye of Ife Kingdom, decried his demise, saying his contribution to the establishment, development, growth and stability of the school would never be forgotten.
Also, Rotimi Makinde, a former member of House of Representatives said that the late monarch was loving, caring and promoted Yoruba culture.
Makinde who represented Ife Federal Constituency, admonished the citizenry to support incumbent Ooni to turn Ile-Ife to Jerusalem as promised, saying he alone cannot transform the town.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Chibuzor Nwoke, commended late Ooni for his contribution toward the development of the school.
Nwoke said that the late monarch assisted the school management board in securin accreditation of some courses from National Universities Commission, among other contributions.
