Samuel Ortom, the immediate past governor of Benue has congratulated Nyesom Wike and Joseph Utsev on their inauguration as ministers.
On Monday, President Bola Tinubu swore in 45 ministers-designate who were screened and confirmed by the senate.
The ceremony was held at the banquet hall of the presidential villa in the federal capital territory (FCT).
Ortom in a statement by Terver Akase, his media aide, said Wike and Utsev will bring their wealth of experiences to bear on their new appointments.
Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers state is appointed as the FCT minister, while Joseph Utsev, a former appointee of Ortom, is now the minister of water resources.
Ortom also commended Tinubu for finding both politicians worthy to serve in his cabinet, describing them as round pegs in round holes needed for addressing challenges being faced by Nigerians.
He described Wike as a worthy ally who deepened the relationship between Rivers and his state, as well as stood by the Benue people in difficult times.
The former governor added that as a dogged, reliable and seasoned administrator, Wike would bring the desired development to the FCT as minister.
He noted that Utsev who served under him as commissioner for water resources and environment has the requisite experience and capacity to excel as the minister of water resources and sanitation.
