Osinbajo removes Ekpo Nta as ICPC boss, makes fresh appointments

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, has approved the redeployment of chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, Ekpo Nta.

Expo Nta has been redeployed to the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission as a full time Commissioner and replaced at the ICPC BY Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye​​.

The Acting President, with powers conferred on the President by Recovery of Public Property (Special Provisions) Act Cap R4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 has also approved the setting up of a Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, to be headed by Okoi Obona-Obla, Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution. Akingbolahan Adeniran is the Secretary to the Panel.

A statement by Director of Press in the SGF Office, Bolaji Adebiyi, listed other appointments in ICPC to include Dr. Grace N. Chinda​​​, Okolo Titus M.​​​​, Barr. Obiora Igwedebia​​, Mrs. Olubukola Balogun​​, Group Captain Sam Ewang (Rtd.), Justice Adamu Bello​​​ and Hannatu Mohammed​​​ as members.

Others include Abdullahi Maikano Saidu​​, Dr. Sa’ad Alanamu​​​, Yahaya Umar Dauda​​​, Khamis Ahmed Mailantarki​, Maimuna Aliyu​​​, while Prof. Musa Usman Abubakar​​ will serve as Secretary.

The appointment of the Chairman is for five years, while the tenure for all the members is four years, all subject to Senate confirmation.

Others to serve with Ekpo Nta at the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission include Alhaji Dauda Yahaya, mni​​​-​ Full-time Commissioner​, Hon. Garba Musa Gulma​​​-​ Full-time Commissioner, Barr. Victoria Nnenna Chukwuani​​-​ Part-time Commissioner, Geoffery Yeilong​​​​-​ Part-time Commissioner, Prof. Ropo Shekoni​​​​-​ Part-time Commissioner, Ahmed Mahmud Gumel​​​-​ Part-time Commissioner.

Others are Permanent Secretary, (Estab.) OHCSF​​​​-​ Member, Permanent Secretary, Fed. Min. of Labour & Prod.​​​-​ Member, Comrade Isa Aremu (NLC)​​​-​ Member and Chuma Nwankwo (NECA)​​-​ Member.

The Commission will be chaired by High Chief Richard Egbule, while E. A. Thompson is the Secretary. Both were appointed in August 2014.
