Former President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) on Wednesday, expressed his satisfaction with the ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, which confirmed the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 election.

Buhari in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, on Wednesday, said the Tribunal has “written history” by withstanding intimidation and all manner of prejudice to deliver justice according to law and to a majority of Nigerians whose wish has been for the choices they made to be respected.

“If anybody has won today it is the democracy and the people,” adding that “with the verdict of the Supreme Court, the election period is over and it is time to put the heat and dust behind us.

“From here, the new APC administration led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should get the support of everyone in order to deliver the promises it made to the people,” he said.

The former President also expressed his appreciation to all Nigerians for maintaining peace throughout the period and prayed for continued progress and development under the APC government.

He sent warm congratulations to the President, the Vice President, and the APC on the victory in court, expressing his best wishes to them in fulfilling the people’s aspirations.
