Rotary Club and Ikeja LG donate to Obada Market
Rotary Club of Ikeja has teamed up with Ikeja Local Government to donate sanitation items to the women and men of Obada Market in Ikeja to mark Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Month, better known as WASH.
Some of the sanitation materials that were donated at the event are big plastic dustbins, heavy duty plastic bags, anti-bacterial cleaning spray, towels, hand sanitisers, soaps, toilet papers, air fresheners, brooms, mops, and packers.
The event, which took place at the Obada market in Ikeja, was attended by Hope, President of the Rotary Club of Ikeja; Rotarian Emeka Ibe, Executive Vice-Chairman of Ikeja Local Government Council; Hon.Yomi Mayungbe, Iyaloja of Obada Market, Ikeja; Chief (Mrs) Abiodun Adefolami Apena, Councillor of Ward A-Ikeja; Hon.Olowolagba Yasin, Public Image Director of Rotary Club of Ikeja; Rotarian Segun Adebowale and Rotarian Femi Jaiyesimi.
Speaking at the event, Rotarian Ibe said the donation by the club which is one of the oldest and leading clubs in Rotary International District 9110, was done to mark Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Month by Rotary International by providing clean water and sanitation materials to communities the world over.
While accepting the materials , the Iyaloja of Obada Market, Ikeja; Chief (Mrs) Abiodun Adefolami Apena said the market women and men were grateful to the club and local government for making the market a better and cleaner one.
