The Publisher of Royal News Online newspapers, Mallam Abdulaezeez Arowona, was among some prominent Nigerians who bagged the Fellowship of the Institute for Crisis Resolution, Peacebuilding and Conciliation (ICRPC) on Saturday in Abuja.
Arowona, a media expert and spokesman to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, has close to two decades experience in crisis reporting and management.
The 2024 ICRPC Training/Induction ceremony and convocation of professional doctorate degree were held at Novare Central Office in Abuja with the theme: “Diversity, Restructuring and Conflict in Nigeria”.
Checks revealed that Arowona has carved a niche for himself as a development/investigative media expert, researcher, author, adventurer, public analyst and candidate for Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the National Open University Nigeria (NOUN), headquarters, Abuja.
Accordingly, the new feat attained by the media expert will avail him and several other inductees, numerous opportunities accrued to the membership of the institute, which include; Continuous Membership Education Training (COMET), the opportunity to acquire up-to-date skills in all ICRPC seminars and workshops on Peacebuilding, conciliation & Conflict Resolution practice, as well as opportunity to use the Institute’s membership suffix, FICRPC.
Others are; Access to a platform for Networking with members and professionals across the country and overseas, opportunity to become a Certified Crisis Management Expert/Specialist, opportunity to feature your professional articles/publications on the institute’s journals and website, membership exposure to existing and future job opportunities, consultancy, research, grant and contract opportunities within the profession.
Arowona, an alumnus of several reputable higher institutions, bagged Bachelor of Science Degree (Political Science) from the University of Ilorin, Masters of Science Degree (Humanitarian and Refugee Studies), from University of Ibadan, Post-Graduate Diploma (Journalism) from International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, as well as Master Class Certificate in Business Management and Leadership from the London Graduate School.
He is a member of professional bodies such as; Nigeria Union Journalist (NUJ), Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN), INternational Centre for Global Research (ICGR) and Guild Of Corporate Online Publisher (GOCOP).
He is the author of “The Royal Stools: A Fluorescence Of Traditional Rulers and Communities” (2017) and “Habibat Saidu Salman: A Diplomatic Administrator And Princess Of The Emirate” (2023) and nearing completion of several other books and biographies.
Arowona, a social entrepreneur and peace advocate is a partner at UK Digital Training Group and holder of traditional title of Shettima of Okuta Emirate and Chikansoro Tangale in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
