The Forum for Justice and Human Rights Defence (FJHD) has advised the Federal Government to seek technical support from the international community, to curb violence and insurgency in parts of the country.
The advice is contained in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the forum, Oghenejabor Ikimi, and made available to newsmen in Warri.
It also asked the government to urgently upgrade the current partial state of emergency in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, to a full scale, to effectively deal with the violence in the states.
“We urge the Federal Government to seek military and technical support from members of the international community with a view to dealing with the current realities and restoring normalcy in the North-Eastern region.
“FJHD also calls on the Federal Government to declare a full scale state of emergency in the affected states by dismantling all existing democratic structures and appointing military administrators to oversee those states,” it said.
Ikimi further implored the government to adopt new proactive strategies to end the violence, which he noted, was threatening the stability and growth of the nation.
