Senator Adeola hails Ambode’s nominees

The senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola has commended the choice of commissioner-nominees and advisers submitted to the State House of Assembly by the governor of Lagos State Akinwunmi Ambode.

Adeola said the nominees when confirmed by the legislature have the experience and exposure to continue the development of Lagos mega city.

Speaking on the side of participation in a festival in Epe with the Lagos State governor over the weekend, Senator Adeola said with a professor, six lawyers, three experienced medical doctors, two journalists amongst other tested professionals, had no doubt in the ability of the Ambode administration to take Lagos state to a new height that will make it a first among other states.

“I must say I am impressed with the painstaking efforts of the governor in choosing a team that comprise an admixture of technocrats, politicians and strategists as represented by such persons as Dr. Babatunde Adejare, a medical doctor and tested state and federal legislator, Steve Ayorinde, a tested newspaper editor, Kehinde Bamigetan, a journalist cum politician, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi, a financial expert, Professor Ademola Abass, a professor of law and Kehinde Joseph, a grassroots politicians of many years standing among others” he stated.

Senator Adeola said it is a major advantage that most of the nominees have been part of governance and politics in Lagos State at various levels and arms of government since the advent of our nascent democracy adding that their experience will greatly help the administration to achieve desired goals at the earliest time.

The senator promised to continue to champion the struggle for a special status/funding for Lagos State as the former federal capital as well as the economic capital of Nigeria stressing that with a Federal Government under an APC government it is hoped that the injustice of abandoning Lagos state by the government at the center will end.
