Suspected ritualist nabbed in Ibadan with human tongues

A suspected ritualist was on Tuesday arrested in the Ring Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State with three human tongues.

Luck ran out of the suspected ritualist who sources say has been staying by the side of the newly constructed bridge at Oni and Son bus stop in the Ibadan metropolis, when some residents of the area who had been suspecting his movement decided to confront him.

The residents, said to be backed by the police had thoroughly searched his hideout under the bridge where they allegedly found several campaign posters of a top politician, bras and pants of different sizes and several other dangerous weapon.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Oluyole Police station.

Similarly, another man suspected to be a member of the notorious gang of ritualists operating at Soka forest of death was beaten to pulp at the Yemetu area of the state by angry mob who allegedly found in his possession two Black Berry phones and a booklet which contained list of human parts and their prices.

However,the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olabisi Ilobanafor said the man found with human tongues was a destitute saying it was only forensic test that could confirm whether what was found on him was human tongue or not.

Ilobanefor however stated that the suspect had been taken to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

The two incidents are coming few days after the discovery of kidnappers’ den in Soka area of Ibadan,the Oyo State capital.
