Confusion has trailed the whereabouts of Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Fr Ejike Mbaka.

The confusion started on Wednesday when a group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, claimed that the whereabouts of Mbaka is unknown.

“We are giving the Federal Government 48 hours to produce the priest, else they should be ready to face Igbo youths. They were dining and wining with him all along and now that he told the truth, they are no longer comfortable with him.

“Let nothing happen to Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. It will not be in anybody’s interest,” the group said in a statement by its president, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike.

When officials of the Diocese of Enugu, to which Fr. Mbaka belongs, were contacted, some of them said he was not missing while others said they cannot confirm his whereabouts.

Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, tweeted that Mbaka could have been arrested by security operatives.

He tweeted, “Reverend Father Mbaka has very strong honesty issues that he has to resolve with His Maker.

“However, I am against any arrest or attempt to infringe on his freedom by the @MBuhari regime. Reports of his arrest by unknown gunmen, if true, are condemned. #FreeMbakaNow!!!”

Meanwhile, there was a reported protest in Enugu State over an alleged arrest of Mbaka by a yet-to-be-identified security operative on Wednesday.

In a video sighted by one of our correspondent, some residents were seen marching to the Catholic Bishop of the Enugu Diocese, causing gridlock.

Mbaka had in his recent criticism of the Federal Government said disaster was lurking in Nigeria.

The pastor warned President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime that he (Mbaka) would be the last person they would fight, adding that heaven’s anger would fall on them should they try it.

“The last person this administration should fight is Father Mbaka because if they speak against me, the anger of heaven will be upon them and how they will end will shock everybody,” he had said.

The cleric claimed that the Presidency was attacking him because he blessed, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.

“If they are worried that I am blessing Nnamdi Kanu, wherever he is, God is blessing him. He is breathing; that he sleeps and wakes up, is it not blessing? Or is he not my brother? Spiritually, is he not my son? So what is their problem? They are busy branding people and communities terrorists.

“If what is happening in Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Maiduguri, Benue, Niger; if all these places are branded terrorist states, will the whole Nigeria not be branded a terrorist country? If anybody says the truth, the person becomes a terrorist,” he added.

“They should be careful because the insecurity I am talking about can affect them. Even the Shehu Garba who is talking, the bandits can come and kill him,” he added.

Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest, has warned the Buhari administration that the youth will rise against the government if it does not cater to their needs.

Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), issued the warning during the 2020 edition of the crossover night session tagged, “Cornucopia of New Miracles from God”.

The cleric warned the government that politicising the condition of the youth would lead to an end of the political system.

“The Holy Spirit of God asked me to warn the government of the day to be very careful; to change policies and take care of the youths without politicising their (youths’) condition,” Mbaka said.

“That the government should rise and urgently create jobs and innovate opportunities that would benefit the youths of the nation because they have suffered so much.

“Don’t politicise the condition of the youths, otherwise, they will arise and end the political system.

“Should the government fail to do so as soon as possible, that time is coming when the youths will rise against the government, and that any attempt to stop them will end the government”

Mbaka also took a swipe at lawmakers whom he described as “kidnappers”.

He said the anger of God will fall on many people in the political circle for allegedly looting the nation’s resources.

“I can see a year ahead; it is not specific whether it is in 2021 that this will happen, but it is within a time in the time of life, that the anger of God will befall many people in the political circle because they have looted so much and disgraced this nation enough,” he said

“Those who should be serving the country have looted the country dry for their personal aggrandisement, such that our children and grandchildren no longer have a future.

“They have kidnapped the opportunities meant for the youths, kidnapped the nation’s wealth and jobs meant for the youths. They have kidnapped a lot of infrastructure development.”

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, says there are 39 more prophecies of his that will come to pass in 2020.

Mbaka said this in a statement while reacting to the removal of the Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, by the Supreme Court and the inauguration of Senator Hope Uzodinma as governor.

The Supreme Court had on Tuesday nullified the election of Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State and declared Uzodinma as the governor of the state.

In the statement by his spokesman, Maximus Ugwuoke, the Catholic priest stated that he gave 40 prophecies on New Year’s Eve but the only one that went viral was that of Uzodinma.

The statement read in part, “Uzodinma becoming the governor of Imo was just a part of the about 40 prophetic prayers Fr. Mbaka made on December 31. But that became the only issue people satanically picked against him.

“God has vindicated Fr. Mbaka as He has always done for Fr. Mbaka and adoration ministry in all the battles, vituperations and attacks the ministry had faced in the past. To God be the glory.”

He said the victory of Uzodinma was evidence that Mbaka was truly an anointed man of God.

The statement further stated that the fact that the Supreme Court’s seven justices unanimously agreed to the judgment showed that God was behind the prophecy.

It read further, “We are not all gifted alike, Fr. Mbaka’s prophetic gift should be a source of pride for the Catholic Church and indeed all true Christians as a living evidence of divine presence within the Church. As a lawyer, I tell you that there are double fold angles to this miracle.

“One is the miraculous resuscitation of Hope Uzodinma from the far away position he was placed in the election result announced by INEC in Imo State. The second is the unanimous confirmation of the seven Justices of the Supreme Court (without a dissent view) that Uzodinma was the rightful winner of the election.”

Recall that the fiery Catholic priest had prophesied that Uzodinma, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate at the March 9, 2019, governorship election in Imo State, would become the governor of the state this year.

The cleric was quoted as saying, “I don’t know the manner the revelation will manifest but no prophecy has ever been declared on this prayer ground without coming to pass.

“In spite of all that would happen this 2020, there is hope. In Imo State, there is hope. Hope, hope, hope! Hope in Imo State. Imo people have suffered but God is raising a new hope that would be an agent of salvation for them.”

Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State has said he is unperturbed about the New Year prophecy of the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Revd. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.

The Catholic priest had prophesied that the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate at the March 9, 2019, governorship election in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, would become the governor of the state this year.

The cleric had said, “I don’t know the manner the revelation will manifest but no prophecy has ever been declared on this prayer ground without coming to pass.

“In spite of all that would happen this 2020, there is hope. In Imo State, there is hope. Hope, hope, Hope. Hope in Imo State. Imo people have suffered but God is raising a new hope that would be an agent of salvation for them.

“He is coming with a new flag to restore the dignity of that noble land. A new leadership that will break barriers and there would be joy in the land of Imo. Lift your candles as I bless Hope Uzodinma and I empower him to spiritually, take over. How? I do not know.”

But the Imo State Commissioner for Information, Felix Ebiliekwe, said in Owerri, Imo State capital on Thursday, dismissed Mbaka’s prophecy.

The information commissioner said neither the governor nor his (governor’s) aides and appointees were disturbed by the cleric’s prophecy.

Ebilikwe said apart from the fact that Uzodinma, coming a distant fourth at the polls, his petitions at the Election Petitions Tribunal and his appeal at the Court of Appeal against the declaration of Ihedioha, as the governor of the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission, were “summarily dismissed.”

He expressed optimism that the Apex Court would equally dismiss Uzodinma’s appeal before it, hence there was no room for fresh evidences and prayers in the appeal.

Ebilikwe advised Mbaka to face his spiritual calling and leave politics alone.

The commissioner said, “The governor is not disturbed. The government and people of Imo State are not disturbed. Imo has been liberated and the governor is busy at a very fast pace rebuilding the state.

“Senator Hope Uzodinma’s petition at the court of first instance, the Elections Petitions Tribunal was dismissed. His appeal at the Court of Appeal was thrown out for lacking in merit.

“The Supreme Court will equally do the same because there will not be any fresh evidences to be filed.

“I will suggest to Revd. Fr. Mbaka to face his spiritual calling and leave politics alone; Imo is in safe hands.

“The things the governor has been able to do in seven months have shown and is very clear to the blind that Imo is being rebuilt. The governor is not disturbed by the priest’s prophecy.”

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of adoration ministry, has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid. Mbaka gave his endorsement in a New Year message to Nigerians.

The Catholic priest said Nigeria has not had president who has undertaken agricultural programmes like Buhari, adding that he has addressed the herdsmen clashes between herdsmen and farmers and banditry.

“A president that is fighting corruption need to be supported. We pray for President Muhammadu Buhari; he is a man who understands the situation. Since Nigeria started, we have never experienced a president that has agricultural programmes like him.

“For 16 years, the road from Anambra to Enugu was over-grown with weeds but within four years the road is being reconstructed and the same way they are doing it to Umuahia. This one that remembered us may God bless him.

“Four years doesn’t mean eight years; he has finished his four years, I pray for peaceful transition that he may complete his remaining four years. He will hand over to a better person, may the Lord keep him. When he was sick, he was almost dead and we said prayer and God granted him healing. God knows the purpose for allowing him to be alive; if God doesn’t want him, he could have died.

“The roads that were not going has started going. A lot of things are happening now which nobody knows. May the lord protect Buhari; it shall be well with our president.”

Mbaka’s endorsement is coming after he said Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi, his running mate, might “end in shame”.

The priest said this in December after Obi failed to give a donation to his ministry. Mbaka had chosen Buhari over ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja presided over by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba on Friday, turned down the application of Abba Moro, former interior minister, to travel abroad for medical appointment.

Moro is facing an 11-count charge of procurement fraud and money laundering preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He is being charged alongside one-time permanent secretary in the ministry, Anastasia Daniel-Nwobia, a deputy director in the ministry, F. O Alayebami, one Mahmood Ahmadu (at large), and Drexel Tech Nigeria Limited, a firm that was given the recruitment job, in the ill-fated Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, recruitment exercise in 2014.

Moro, had through his counsel, Paul Erokoro, SAN, sought leave of the court to travel abroad for a medical appointment in an application dated December 16, 2016.

At the resumed sitting today, Erokoro, while reminding the court of the pending application urged his lordship to allow the defendant attend to his medical needs abroad.

In his ruling, Justice Dimgba noted that, the application, dated December 16, 2016 addressed the request for the defendant to travel out of the country for a medical appointment scheduled for January 2017.

“A medical appointment for January 2017 cannot be given in March”, the judge held.

Consequently, Justice Dimgba asked that the counsel update the application, and adjourned to Tuesday, March 21, 2017 for hearing on pending applications.

Earlier in the proceeding, Ishaq Yahaya, a director of compliance at the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, who testified as PW3 was called to the witness box for further cross-examination.

He had at the last sitting, March 16, while being cross-examined by Erokoro, SAN, and Chris Uche, SAN, counsel to 1st and 2nd defendants respectively, told the court that Drexel Tech Global Services, a company purportedly used by the defendant to perpetuate the alleged crime “is non-existent”.

Answering questions by S. I. Ameh, SAN, counsel to the fourth defendant, Drexel Tech Nigeria Limited, Yahaya gave additional insight into how the recruitment exercise of March 17, 2013 that led to the death of scores of Nigerian job applicants was carried out without due process.

He informed the court of the prescribed methods by the Public Procurement Act for procurement of services.

According to him, “While the use of ICT cannot be tagged as a criminal activity, the method prescribed by the Public Procurement Act for procurement of services are: the Open Competitive Method, the Special and Restricted Methods, under which are Selective Tendering, Direct Procurement, Emergency Procurement and Two-Stage Tendering. Consultancy falls under all the methods”.

Regarding the contract (Exhibit AAFD 13), Yahaya said, “The parties to the e-recruitment platform contract were the Ministry of Interior and Drexel Tech Nigeria Ltd.

“The contractual agreement between the Interior Ministry and Drexel was a Public-Private Partnership project, as indicated by the Minister. Drexel was engaged to provide the e-recruitment platform for the Government.

“The item and the amount relating to the operational cost of N83million were not captured in the document. No sum from the Federal Government was invested in this project. Information on a sharing ratio of 70:30 between the Federal Government and the contractor was not captured in the document”.

He added that there was no supplementary document or addendum with the documents supplied by the Ministry for the purpose of review.

Upon allusions by Ameh to the effect that the BPP did not write to Drexel Tech Nig Ltd for their account of events, Yahaya said, “We were reviewing the contract and not Drexel, the organization”.

The Enugu Catholic priest, and Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians will not vote for him in 2019 if he does not address the high level of hunger and suffering in the country.

Mbaka has been one of Buhari’s most vocal supporters since he asked Nigerians to reject the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party during the 2015 presidential pol and predicted Buhari’s victory.

But, in a surprising turn of events, Mbaka attacked Buhari in a recent message, details of which were obtained by journalists on Tuesday night.

In the message, Mbaka noted that there was too much suffering in the country, and faulted the President for not appointing the right people.

He also accused the President of listening to the wrong advice.

The message partly read, “The issue is that Mbaka is speaking as the Spirit leads him – there is hunger everywhere. My job is to tell leaders the truth, the landlords are crying, the tenants are lamenting, sellers are crying, buyers are lamenting – there is hunger on the streets.

“I can’t keep quiet when things are going wrong. I am telling the President to look around him and know those who are advising him rightly and those who are telling him that there is no trouble.

“The President should know that there is trouble – if things continue like this, in the next election, nobody will vote for him. Whether they like it or not, I am speaking the raw truth.

“If the President should have somebody like me and he cannot be talking with me, then there is a problem.

“There is a problem somewhere; somebody who can advise you without asking for anything and he is representing the poor masses in the country and he won’t tell you lies.

“He will praise you when you are doing well and when you are not doing well, he will look at you in the face and tell you.”

Continuing, he said, “I don’t need the President; I need God, I need the Holy Spirit, I need Jesus; there is suffering everywhere, people are suffering.

“To feed is now a problem, and an hungry man is an angry man. Hunger and anger will lead to danger.

“So, let him know whether he can do away with some advisers around him and bring in the people who are experts in economic revamp.

“There are people who are experts in that; let them begin to empower people, people are not empowered, they are still walking around in vicious circles, planning and planning and planning.”

Mbaka said there were no spaces left in mortuaries across the country.

“Hunger is everywhere, many neighbours don’t eat again, many are being attacked by hunger, hunger is becoming a normal thing and there are people responsible for this.

“Mortuary and ambulance business is now thriving because many cannot afford drugs.

“In today’s Nigeria, many are becoming hawkers, who will buy from you, with what?

“Everyday, more pipelines are being blown, the Avengers are at work and up till now, there is no solution.

“You know when certain things begin to happen, you begin to ask some questions, somebody like me will begin to ask – when will this end?

“If it continues in the next three months, there will be no money to pay salaries – the vicious effect is disastrous and when salaries cannot be paid, teachers will come home, students will stop going to school, there will be more kidnappings, more hooliganism, more armed robbery, more prostitution, immorality will be on the increase.”

He urged Buhari to sit up and stop going after the leadership of the Senate.

Mbaka equally bemoaned the continuous depreciation in the value of the naira.

“So, the President should sit up – there is a red light blinking on the country.

“The issue of Saraki and Ekweremadu, nobody wants to listen to such stories any more, whether Saraki is the President of the Senate or Ekweremadu is not this or that, the countrymen are tired of such stories.

“We need economic experts, gurus, sages that are sincere, who can come in and think about our economic revamp and judicial reformation.”

The Catholic Church has explained the recent transfer of controversial Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka from Enugu to Emene.

The Church said the essence of his transfer was to make him more useful.

In a reaction through the Secretary-General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Reverend Father Ralph Madu, the church said the posting was not meant to be punitive but a “normal church procedure.”

“Mbaka’s transfer is not an exception; the Bishop has the right to post any priest wherever he feels his service would be more useful to the church.

“His posting should have been a privilege, not a punishment – which the Bishop can do because he has the power.

“If he (Mbaka) says it’s a punishment, then it’s open for further investigation. Posting is a regular thing, a priest can be transferred after two, three, four, or more years. It depends on the discretion of the Bishop.

“That ministry (Adoration Ministry) is his private ministry. It does not belong to the church. Overseeing a parish is a full time job. Overseeing a ministry is a bigger task. If the church decides to take him somewhere where he’ll have more time to carry out his ministry, how is it punitive? That should not be the language.”

Madu said Fr. Mbaka had done things that were unacceptable to the church in the past but received no punishments for them.

“He is supposed to be a missionary. What if the Bishop had closed down the ministry, which is within his power to do? Sometimes, transfers can be for the good of the priest as something can be going wrong which he might not be aware of. The Bishop is free to move any priest at any time, it is his prerogative.”

Criticisms had greeted the Enugu Diocese’s recent decision to transfer Mbaka out of Christ the King Parish , GRA, where he had served for over a decade and had established a popular prayer ministry, the Adoration Prayer Ministry.

Fr Mbaka is to resume immediately at his new post at the Our Lady Parish, Emene. The priest, who is as fiery as he is controversial, had described his re-posting by the church as a “calculated move” to make him suffer.”

The fiery Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) on his victory in the March 28 Presidential election.

Mbaka, whose New Year Message, “From Goodluck to Badluck,” became a major talking point during the campaigns for the election, said Buhari’s emergence was a divine victory for all Nigerians.

Speaking through his spokesman, Maximus Ugwuoke, Mbaka also noted that Buhari’s victory was a fulfillment of his prophecy in the New Year Message, but urged the President-Elect to seek divine wisdom before appointing people who will work with him.

According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan’s biggest problem was that he surrounded himself with the “wrong people,” advising Buhari to avoid making the same mistake.

“It is with vindictive joy and glory to God that the Adoration Ministry, the nation and indeed the world saw the fulfillment of Fr. Mbaka’s New Year prophesy of change with the miraculous, victorious emergence of General Muhammed Buhari at the March 28th polls as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We wish to restate that before President Goodluck became the President of this country, Fr. Mbaka prophesied it in his message titled ‘Okolo.’

“Today again, Buhari’s victory, among other lessons it portends to Nigerians, has once more confirmed to all and sundry that Fr. Mbaka is indeed a true Prophet of God and that his New Year message was indeed from the Oracle of the Holy Spirit as he declared.

“The ministry with magnanimous heart holds no grudges against anyone who attacked it in one way or the other at the rage of the controversies surrounding Fr. Mbaka’s message and view their actions as being orchestrated by their misconstruing of Fr. Mbaka’s prophetic calling.

“The Ministry joins the rest of Nigerians to congratulate Buhari as God’s chosen instrument of change to tackle the myriads of problems facing Nigeria and pray God to endow him with the wisdom to go about this onerous task.

“We see Buhari’s victory as divine victory to all Nigerians irrespective of our religious and ethnic divide.”

While urging Buhari to seek divine wisdom before choosing the people he would work with, he said, “The prayer of Fr. Mbaka is that God will give Buhari wisdom not to surround himself with wrong people – that was the major problem Jonathan’s administration faced.

“Fr. Mbaka has advocated that Nigerians should be patient with Buhari because the holes dug in the country are too much – holes of corruption, holes of unemployment, among others.”

He, however, assured that he will be the first to condemn Buhari if he fails to live up to expectations.

Fiery Enugu Catholic priest and founder of the Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, on Sunday said his life is been threatened by unknown persons for criticising President Goodluck Jonathan and calling on him to resign.

The clergy said he has been receiving threat messages following his New Year eve message titled “From Good Luck to Bad Luck” in which he said Nigeria would be heading towards disaster if President Goodluck Jonathan was re-elected.

In a sermon at the Christ the King Catholic Parish GRA, Enugu, Sunday, Rev. Mbaka said if such threats could move him, he would not even be standing before the congregation that morning.

He said, “Tell them I am not afraid of them. I have said what I was asked to say. The only word I have for them is Isaiah 54:15,17: “Surely they shall gather, but because the gathering is not of God they shall scatter. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper.”

“They said Buhari gave me money, but I have never met with Buhari. I don’t know him in person. I only delivered the message I was given and I stand by that message because the future of this country is bleak with Jonathan on the saddle.”

Mbaka said before he gave the December 31, 2014 message, he had called Mrs. Patience Jonathan severally but couldn’t get to her. “When she came here, I told her to give me her number so that I could give her messages, but thrice she refused. It was later she told one of the pastors with her to give me his number. “

“So, before that message, I had called the number for two weeks but it was always the Personal Assistant to the pastor that picked the calls. “

Mbaka, who warned that Nigeria needed change, repeated that if Jonathan was re-elected for another tenure, “the next four years will be hell for the country. People are crying of hanger but then you will see what is hunger.”
