Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), says the leadership of the Catholic diocese in his state wanted to close his ministry for one month.

Mbaka disclosed this when he addressed worshippers at the adoration ground in Enugu on Wednesday.

The priest had resurfaced hours after some residents in Enugu protested over his whereabouts amid reports that he was missing.

While addressing the worshippers, Mbaka said the church leadership, led by Calistus Onaga, summoned him over his recent comments concerning Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and his connection to the presidency.

Following Mbaka’s comments asking President Muhammadu Buhari to resign because “God is angry with him”, Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, had accused the priest of soliciting contracts from the federal government.

However, in response, Mbaka admitted that he discussed contracts with Buhari, but lamented that the president didn’t reward him or his ministry, despite supporting the presidency.

In a recent sermon, Mbaka had also said God will bless Kanu for his courage, because the rising insecurity in the country is “mind-blowing”.

“Wherever he is, may God bless him; because if someone has risen up to shout that his brothers are suffering, is it a crime?” Mbaka had said.

Speaking on his meeting with the Catholic bishop in Enugu, Mbaka said the church leadership told him he would remain indoors for a period of one month to enable him pray and meditate over his activities.

The catholic priest said he asked for an opportunity to address his parishioners but was not allowed.

“How can they believe what others say, and they will not believe what the priest is saying? The emphasis is ‘please, let me go to celebrate the mass’, but they said ‘no’. If a priest will request to celebrate mass and they say ‘no’, that means something is wrong,” he said.

He then added in Igbo that the church wanted him to leave his ministry for one month, but he refused, adding that he was released because of the protest.

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry (AMEN), has admitted meeting President Muhammadu Buhari with three persons over a contract that has become controversial.

Although the Catholic priest denied meeting the president for any personal gain, he admitted during his sermon on Sunday that the deal in question was a “contract of securing the country”.

He also said the meeting was during Buhari’s first term when he went to “hand over” three white men he never knew but who said “they had the platform to end insecurity in this country under one month”.

The presidency had accused the cleric of seeking Buhari’s removal as president because he was rebuffed after seeking government contracts.

According to Garba Shehu, the presidential spokesman that made the allegation, “Father Mbaka asked for a meeting and to the shock of Presidential Aides, he came accompanied by three contractors. The President graciously allowed them in, and to everyone’s surprise, Father Mbaka asked for contracts as compensation for his support.”

Addressing thousands in his congregation in Emene, Enugu state, Mbaka said the white men in question were in Enugu to request his assistance in reaching the president.

He also attacked Shehu and the presidency for choosing to hide the truth while “you started attacking the person who said the truth.”

He said: “When they talked about giving Father Mbaka contracts, I don’t want to talk about that, I was laughing. It is a laughable, childish accusation. Whoever is saying that is a shame to himself and shame to the people he is representing. The three men he talked about, I am not here to defend anybody’s stupid allegation, but God used that man to tell the world that Buhari’s government is not giving me money.

“Shehu, may God bless you for telling everybody that you are not giving me a contract. And these are the three men that we brought that will handle insecurity for the country; they had the gadgets. The white people had the facilities. That was during the first administration.

“They said they will help them in conquering insecurity. They had the platform to end insecurity in this country under one month; under Abba Kyari. I just handed them over to the government people. They denied them of these.

“I don’t even know these people. They just came to Enugu and said, can I help them reach the government, that the level of insecurity in this country and how Nigeria has been shipping their oil out, refining and bringing them back, that we are losing. That they have all it takes to revive the oil apparatus in the country and get the whole youths employed and the issue of insecurity will die. These are the three people they rejected their offer, since they know how to talk.”

On the one hand, Mbaka said he had nothing to gain from the said meeting, but on the other hand, he attacked the presidency for not having a “reward mechanism”.

He spoke about the people he has helped in life and asked: “All the people they have been giving contracts, are they better than me? Am I begging them, do they know how many people I feed? Fortunately, they reported that they denied me of the contract — which contract?”

“And even the people they are talking about that went there, I didn’t even discuss one percent of ‘if you get this contract’; contract of securing the country? What am I going to gain from it? As if to say when he pushes that, Father Mbaka is no longer a Nigerian,” he said.

“They have shown that they don’t have what they will call, reward mechanism. If Shehu is a human… I don’t even know who the Shehu is. He should be apologising that by now, they have not come down to say nagode Allah for surviving whatever they are passing through. The last person this administration should fight is Father Mbaka talking here because if they speak against me, the anger of heaven will be upon them and how they will end will shock everybody.”

The priest further dismissed reports asking the Catholic church and Pope Francis to discipline him, saying he will be rewarded for speaking against “evil governance.”

“If Rome hears that Father Mbaka is challenging evil governance, Rome will clap for me, so quickly go to Rome,” he said.

“Why I don’t want them even to report this to Rome is because if pope hears the extent of my involvement, they may give me a position I may not like You want to report Messi to FIFA that he plays too much ball? They will make him soccer ambassador.”

Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest, has warned the Buhari administration that the youth will rise against the government if it does not cater to their needs.

Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), issued the warning during the 2020 edition of the crossover night session tagged, “Cornucopia of New Miracles from God”.

The cleric warned the government that politicising the condition of the youth would lead to an end of the political system.

“The Holy Spirit of God asked me to warn the government of the day to be very careful; to change policies and take care of the youths without politicising their (youths’) condition,” Mbaka said.

“That the government should rise and urgently create jobs and innovate opportunities that would benefit the youths of the nation because they have suffered so much.

“Don’t politicise the condition of the youths, otherwise, they will arise and end the political system.

“Should the government fail to do so as soon as possible, that time is coming when the youths will rise against the government, and that any attempt to stop them will end the government”

Mbaka also took a swipe at lawmakers whom he described as “kidnappers”.

He said the anger of God will fall on many people in the political circle for allegedly looting the nation’s resources.

“I can see a year ahead; it is not specific whether it is in 2021 that this will happen, but it is within a time in the time of life, that the anger of God will befall many people in the political circle because they have looted so much and disgraced this nation enough,” he said

“Those who should be serving the country have looted the country dry for their personal aggrandisement, such that our children and grandchildren no longer have a future.

“They have kidnapped the opportunities meant for the youths, kidnapped the nation’s wealth and jobs meant for the youths. They have kidnapped a lot of infrastructure development.”

On Tuesday, the supreme court announced Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Imo state.

That announcement came as a surprise to many Nigerians, but what is more surprising? It had come as a prophecy about two weeks ago.

While speaking at his recent church programme, Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest in Enugu diocese, had said that the APC administration will return to Imo having been sacked during the governorship election in 2019.

Uzodinma had lost to Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who was announced winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

But during the programme held on January 1, Mbaka said Uzodinma’s return will be among the things that will shock Nigerians in 2020.

He had said: “Many things are going to happen in Nigeria this 2020 that will shock countrymen and countrywomen; but all would be to God’s glory.

“In spite of all that would happen this 2020, there is hope. In Imo State, there is hope. Hope, hope, hope in Imo state!”

He had also said the people of Imo have suffered but “God is raising a new hope that would be an agent of salvation for them.”

According to him, God is “coming with a new flag to restore the dignity of that noble land. A new leadership that will break barriers and there would be joy in the land of Imo.

“Lift your candles as I bless Hope Uzodinma; and I empower him to, spiritually, to take over. How, I do not know.”

There were different reactions to Mbaka’s prophecy while Ihedioha said he was not perturbed.

But responding to the outrage over the prophecy during a service on the first Sunday of the year, Mbaka said those attacking him were ignorant of the spirit’s directive.

He told Ihedioha to be prepared to leave office, saying a new hope, with a new flag will take over the government of Imo.

“Those who are attacking the message are just casting Pearl before swine, the Holy Spirit has said it, and that is final. I don’t know how it will happen but the only thing is that I see hope, joy, and a new government coming in Imo state,” he had said.

“Even though Ihedioha has won in tribunal and at the Appeal court, that doesn’t mean that he will triumph in Supreme Court enough of all this brouhaha! What we are doing in adoration here is spiritual, it is not according to our power, it is Holy Spirit, once he reveals it, we say it.

“Ihedioha and co should go and relax. This is not unprecedented, it happened to Jonathan, Atiku and Peter Obi and after everything, my prophecy came through. You must not be the Governor of Imo state, and you are not better than Hope Uzodinma.”

Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of adoration ministry, has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid. Mbaka gave his endorsement in a New Year message to Nigerians.

The Catholic priest said Nigeria has not had president who has undertaken agricultural programmes like Buhari, adding that he has addressed the herdsmen clashes between herdsmen and farmers and banditry.

“A president that is fighting corruption need to be supported. We pray for President Muhammadu Buhari; he is a man who understands the situation. Since Nigeria started, we have never experienced a president that has agricultural programmes like him.

“For 16 years, the road from Anambra to Enugu was over-grown with weeds but within four years the road is being reconstructed and the same way they are doing it to Umuahia. This one that remembered us may God bless him.

“Four years doesn’t mean eight years; he has finished his four years, I pray for peaceful transition that he may complete his remaining four years. He will hand over to a better person, may the Lord keep him. When he was sick, he was almost dead and we said prayer and God granted him healing. God knows the purpose for allowing him to be alive; if God doesn’t want him, he could have died.

“The roads that were not going has started going. A lot of things are happening now which nobody knows. May the lord protect Buhari; it shall be well with our president.”

Mbaka’s endorsement is coming after he said Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi, his running mate, might “end in shame”.

The priest said this in December after Obi failed to give a donation to his ministry. Mbaka had chosen Buhari over ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

Revered reverend father and spiritual director of the Adoration Ministries Enugu (AMEN), Ejike Mbaka, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of planning to assassinate him.

Mbaka, who endorsed Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming presidential election, alleged that Jonathan has been intolerant of his opposition to his government.

“Did they think that killing father Mbaka would make Jonathan and his wife win the election?” he asked in a video.

“Is Mbaka their problem? All this while father Mbaka has been supporting Jonathan and the wife, did Buhari and his party, make any statement or threaten him for over six years? “I want to send this message to the atmosphere, let it now be known to the whole world that President Goodluck Jonathan and Patience, are planning to assassinate father Mbaka.

“It’s a known secret, so however they are planning it, I don’t know, whoever they want to use, I don’t know; they would not come themselves; they would use this unemployed people, the same people I’m speaking for.
“Just like in the days of Chimaroke [a former governor of Enugu], I came here announcing that they were planning to attack the ministry. People said it could not happen but they struck one night.

Likening the situation between him and the president to that of Pharoah and Moses in the Bible, the arguably most popular priest in the south east begged to be left alone.

“After the passover, the family of Pharaoh cried and the remnant of the tears got to a conclusion in the middle of the red sea. Let them leave Father Mbaka alone,” he said.

Mbaka said the first lady offered to bribe him by sending money through Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, but he rejected it.

“The so-called money they are boasting that they gave Father Mbaka, I have severally [sic] here on this altar put my hands to tell the whole world that it is true if it is true,” he said.

“Ekweremadu, the deputy senate president, came with one little, would I call it a bag or purse, I don’t know, containing some money. He said Mrs president gave to you, and the money was rejected and it is in Ekweremadu’s house. I am not holding one kobo of Patience Jonathan’s money. If he tries any nonsense, the battle would be between Goodluck and God.”
