An Elementary School teacher, Adebisi Ayodele was detained by Oyo Police Command officers for allegedly impersonating a police officer and performing a stop and search duty on the road.
The suspect had been impersonating a police officer for years, according to SP Yemisi Opalola, the police command’s public relations officer in Osun State.
Ayodele was caught while carrying out alleged illegal escorting and stop-and-search operations while wearing a police uniform along Asejire Road in Oyo State’s Egbeda Local Government Area.
The 50-year-old suspected imposter was apprehended by Oyo command agents who were on intelligence patrols while posing as an assistant superintendent of police.
The statement read, “Level 14 Elementary School teacher performing illegal escort/stop and search duties along Asejire Road, Egbeda LGA has been nabbed by operatives of Oyo State Police Command on Intelligence-led patrols.
“The suspect, Adebisi Ayodele ‘m’ 50yrs, an elementary school teacher at Ikereku-Idan, Abeokuta, Ogun State who had hitherto paraded himself as an Assistant Superintendent of Police for years has been caught and his presently understanding de-brief at the Command.”
