Tottenham recorded their second consecutive victory at Old Trafford by beating Manchester United to move up to sixth in the Premier League.
United began briskly before Emmanuel Adebayor guided in a header from Christian Eriksen’s cross.
Eriksen doubled the lead by heading in from close-range after another Spurs break but Danny Welbeck beat Hugo Lloris to set up a frantic finish.
Although Javier Hernandez had a flick saved, Spurs held on.
It completed a hugely impressive result for new Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood, who is unbeaten in his four Premier League games in charge.
And having previously waited nearly 24 years to beat Manchester United on their home turf, Spurs have shown that they still have a part to play in the title race.
