The senate has confirmed Jobson Ewalefoh as the new director-general of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).

The upper legislative chamber also confirmed Olatunji Bello as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

The senate confirmed the appointments on Tuesday after considering two reports by Sadiq Suleiman, senator representing Kwara north and chair of the committee on trade.

While presenting his reports, the Kwara senator said both nominees met the required criteria for public office.

Suleiman said there was no security report or petitions against them. “We received all the documents from Tunji Bello and he appeared for the screening where he answered questions about his nomination. The nominee was found suitable and it is recommended that he is approved.

“Jobson was equally invited for screening and he was interviewed. No security report against him and he was recommended to be approved for the position.”

President Bola Tinubu had appointed Ewalefoh on July 13 and Bello in June.
