Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi has set up a seven-man committee to investigate allegation of criminal activities against two traditional rulers in the state.

The Chief of Fakai, Alhaji Hudu Dan-Mallam and that of Danko Wasagu, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, were accused of rudeness, dishonesty, cheating and conniving with kidnappers and armed robbers.

Already, the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sani Sami, had issued the two traditional chiefs with a query, while the sole administrators of their local governments had suspended them from office.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Yauri, in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, said that the committee, chaired by a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Sani Aliyu, was given two weeks to submit its report.

Other members included representatives of the SSS, Police, Zuru, Gwandu and Yauri emirate councils as well as Alhaji Alhassan Dugu, Director, Inspectorate Services, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, who would serve as Secretary.
