US-based Yoruba organisation lauds Aregbesola’s development initiatives

A Yoruba social cultural organisation, the Egbe Omo Yoruba North America chapter has commended the ‎Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for promoting the culture and tradition of the Yoruba nation.

The organisation made this commendation during a courtesy to the governor at the Governor Office, Osogbo on Tuesday.

Egbe Omo Yoruba, s‎peaking through its National President, Bolu Omodele, noted that Aregbesola has proven himself worthy as a good Yoruba Ambassador.

‎He stressed that the governor needs to be encouraged by all for his selfless efforts and determination in promoting and showcasing Yoruba cultural values to the world.

The organisation promised to collaborate with the state in improving it’s revenue for the sustainable growth of the state.
According to him, “As Yoruba nationality from the source, we are convinced that we can assist in boosting the revenue base of the state through investments.

“One area which readily comes to our mind is in agriculture as we shall be requesting from the government land for agricultural purposes,” the president told the Governor

Responding, Governor Aregbesola emphasised that, any society that discards its culture and tradition may have its history and tradition going into extinction.

He lauded the Egbe Omo Yoruba North America for remembering their root, saying no matter how long they might have stayed in foreign land, their is no place like home.

The governor acknowledged the resolve of the organisation to partner with the State especially in the area of agriculture, saying that it will be difficult for any society to exist if it cannot feed its people.

He said that “Any society, community, states or nation unable to feed its people risk extinction. For us as a state, we will be ready to collaborate with your organisation in the encouraging modern agriculture”.

“In all these, I wish you remember that home is the best as I call on you to encourage your wards born in far away North America on why Yoruba culture and tradition must be uplifted,” The governor emphasised.

Aregbesola took time to explain to the visitors on the essence of the re-branding of the state at the inception of his government, adding that the new positive reputation created for the state made it possible for the administration to be investor-friendly.
