The Oyo State Government has completed the renovation and upgrade of 299 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in 351 wards across the State.
The Oyo State Chief of staff, ‘Segun Ogunwuyi, stated that the upgrade and renovation of 299 of the proposed 351 PHCs have been fully upgraded, equipped, staffed.
Ogunwuyi, who spoke at the Stakeholders Consultative Meeting on Year 2024 Budget for Oyo State, held at Ogbomoso South Local Government Secretariat, Ogbomoso, said that the project was in line with the promise made by the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration, under the Oyo State Roadmap for Accelerated Development 2019-2023,
He said that Oyo State would have at least one grade 3 Primary Health Care Centre (PHC) to allow people at the grassroots to enjoy easy access to basic medical care.
He added that the remaining fifty-two (52) will be completed very soon as Governor Seyi Makinde is a talk and do Governor.
He also informed the people of Ogbomoso that government has adequately captured them in the year 2024 budget for the State.
Ogunwuyi, further explained that the Light Up of Oyo state will soon cut across every part of Ogbomoso zone, as some parts are already enjoying it.
He added that Bus-Terminal and the flyover are coming to Ogbomoso as requested by the people.
On Infrastructure, he hinted that rehabilitation work will soon commence on the road from Abede to Orita Apatemota, adding that he has gotten approval for its rehabilitation.
He announced that a sum of Hundred Million Naira has also been allocated to Ogbomoso Zone under the SAFER Oyo Programme for small business owners to take advantage of, which comes with 3 months interest-free.
He stated further that work is ongoing on the proposed Industrial Park in Ogbomoso.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye stated that under the SAFER Oyo Programme, 10,000 farm inputs have been given to Farmers in each zone to cultivate.
He also said that over 9,000 bags of Corn have been purchased to be given to Poultry farmers to feed their Chicken.
All local roads have been listed under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) and they will be catered for.
Speaking on behalf of the Royal Fathers, the Onpetu of Ijeru Land, Oba Sunday Oyediran appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for duly implementing the year 2023 budget without increasing the tax payment by the people, despite the economic conditions of the Country.
He also commended the Governor on Infrastructural development in the zone, which everyone can attest to.
He therefore urged the Governor to pay more attention to other roads in the Zone that needed government attention.
