The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has said that the challenges the state is facing is temporary and that his administration will fulfil all its promises to the people of the state.

The governor during the RLG product Discovery Day held at the RLG Adulawo Technology city, Ilesa-Akure expressway noted that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP is the harbinger of Nigeria’s problem.

RLG plant, a public-private partnership arrangement between RLG Ghana and Osun is the biggest in Africa and the first of its kind in Nigeria.

Aregbesola stressed that, given the potential of the electronic market in Nigeria, RLG is a necessity which when in full operation, will be able to assemble all kinds of electronic gadgets from mobile phones, LCD TV, desktop computers and any electronic device imaginable.

He added that RLG has recorded a significant breakthrough with GSM service providers partnering with it.

RLG has received an order for 50,000 phones each from Airtel Nigeria and Globacom, stressing that the company has provided direct employment for 150 workers.

Aregbesola pointed out that the next phase of its operation will provide employment to 1,500 salespersons who will man the kiosks and other sales outposts for RLG products as it enters the mobile phone markets.

The governor noted that his administration has fulfilled every promise made to the people, saying every other promises made that has not yet been fulfilled, will be fulfilled soon.

He said, “we will not disappoint the people who trusted us and keep giving us the mandate to govern. It is not in our DNA to disappoint.

‎”Whatever challenges we are facing can only be temporary. Our commitment and passion to serve our people is undiminished.

“We remain resolute to lay a solid foundation and preside over the most peaceful and the most prosperous era in the annals of this state. We shall fulfil our mandate because our best is yet to come.

He flayed critics and naysayers who last year alleged that RLG was for the purpose of the election that was to come up later in the year, thanking God that such critics have been proven wrong.

According to him, “they predicted that OYES would fail, they predicted that O’MEALS would fail, they even predicted that O’REAP would fail. Then of course, they predicted that we would not win re-election.

“They also predicted that the alliance that produced the All Progressives Congress (APC) would collapse in six months. Then, they predicted that the APC Presidential Candidate would not win the election.

“We can now laugh at their puerile and malicious predictions that were doomed to fail ab initio. When their predictions failed, their next move now is to cowardly attack our families”. The governor told the gathering.

This was in a veiled reference to orchestrated lies on Tuesday that his son was arrested over money laundering.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Segun Ogunsaya, commended governor Aregbesola for his visionary leadership in the state.

He added that his company took the decision based on the fact that Osun has made a good stride in Information Communications Technology, ICT among all the states.

Ogunsaya lauded the governor for the vision to localise the assemblage of electronics and telephone in the country.

“We believe in supporting whatever thing that is local and indigenous, this is a project that we believe in, it will be cheaper and affordable it will help bring down poverty.

“Also in Airtel, we believe that if we support RLG we will be helping the country, the state of Osun in tackling the scourge of unemployment”. The communication boss emphasised.
