The governors forum of the People Democratic Party (PDP) says detractors of the party want to see it in factions.

Speaking at the 98th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party on Thursday, in Abuja, Bala Mohammed, chairman of the forum, said the PDP will ensure it makes Nigerians proud and bring good governance in all ramifications.

He said detractors of the party would not be given the opportunity to destroy it.

“We recognise that all eyes are on the PDP, especially we, the governors, and we are poised to bring fear- mechanisms so that we will bring good governance, which will oppose what is happening in the APC,” Mohammed said.

“We want to ensure that we make Nigerians proud and bring good governance in all ramifications, and with all humility and modesty, you recognise that the governors are doing very well.

“We recognise that there are some gaps in the leadership recruitment and in aspirations outside the lingering perception… and, of course, the strategy of our detractors, who are lingering and waiting somewhere to see us implored or explored.

“We will not give our detractors the opportunity to see what they want—the creation of factions in the PDP.

“We appreciate the opportunity Nigerians have given us, and we are going to work with humility and modesty with the few resources to get us to the higher heights that the PDP is known for. We will not sit down and allow Nigerians to wallow in hardship.”
