The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has clarified the position of the All Progressives Congress (APC) members of the House from Lagos State overwhelmingly endorsing Akin Ambode as the next governor of the state.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Research and Media, Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart, Gbajabiamila concurred that Ambode had a closed door session with the caucus members, but that they (the members) did not endorse him.

“After the meeting, there was no communique or declaration by any of the members privy to the meeting and the minority leader did not grant any interview after the meeting,” the statement said.

He, however, indicated that “the House of Representatives Caucus members would be willing to receive any of the gubernatorial aspirants who are willing to intimate them about their plans for the state.
