YABATECH woos NSE to bridge missing links between town and gown

Yaba College of Technology has wooed the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) on the need to promptly bridge the missing links between the town and gown towards advancing the accomplishment of technological sustainable development in Nigeria.

The Rector of the College, Engr. Abdul Ibraheem made the call at a courtesy visit paid to him in his office, by the executive officers and the elite members of the Lagos branch of the Nigeria Society of Engineers.

He explained that the College is highly passionate in having partnership with the industry and professional bodies in order to better the lot of the students and the industries.

According to him, “I am very proud to be part of NSE Lagos Branch, count me as one of your advocates in convincing NSE members in YABATECH to actively participate in the activities of the association. We will make effort to change the narration and be intentional about it, and we will give them the required support to ensure that our members do the needful”.

One of our topmost agenda in the present administration’s ERECT for the college future agenda, is to empower the workforce of the institution by enabling them to achieve self-actualization in which they will be able to be proud of themselves and this will be done by tapping into the advantage of partnering with various professional bodies and industries; he added.

The Chairman, NSE; Lagos branch, Engr. Bello Adekunle, who led the delegation, informed the management of the college that the visit was to felicitate with the Rector of the College, Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, who is a member of the Society, since his appointment as Rector of the Premier tertiary institution in Nigeria and to seek the necessary areas of partnership with the institution for mutual benefits.

He added that the visit was also to implore the leadership of YABATECH to encourage all NSE members in the College to attend the Society’s activities both at he meeting at the branch and national levels, regularly, to pay their dues promptly, and to contribute positively to the development of the professional body, which will be a catalyst to the growth of the Association.
