Former Super Eagles midfielder Edema Fuludu has said that the choice of Joseph Yobo as the national team’s assistant coach is hasty.

The 1994 AFCON winner said there were other coaches who were better prepared for the Eagles’ job.

“There’s what we call periodisation in coaching. There are many coaches who have played the game and are licensed as coaches,” Fuludu said.

The former BCC Lions of Gboko star said Yobo had not attended any coaching course and unsuitable for the job.

“Yobo has not gotten that coaching experience to handle the Eagles. He should have been given some other jobs with the team as it is.”

On the issue of Delta State FA crisis, which led to the Nigeria Football Federation setting up a normalisation committee, Fuludu stated, “I won the Delta FA election alongside Victor Ikpeba. Meanwhile, some people want to bring the (Delta) governor’s brother as the Delta FA chairman.
