Hilda Dokubo, the actress, has slammed Mercy Chinwo over her disagreement with Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the founder of the record label EeZee Conceptz.
Chinwo was signed to the label in 2017 after winning the second season of the Nigerian Idol.
In September 2022, there were reports that Chinwo left Eezee Conceptz due to a disagreement over financial matters.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Dokubo shared a screenshot of Chinwo’s birthday message to EeZee Tee in 2018.
In the birthday message, the singer described her former label boss as a “blessing to our generation” and thanked him for being a “father, mentor, and manager.”.
Reacting in the accompanying caption, Dokubo insinuated that the ‘Excess Love’ hitmaker had “bitten the hands that fed her”.
The actress argued that people’s true identities only show up after they have gained power and fame.
“You might think that you know someone until you give them the opportunity to earn power, fame, and fortune,” she said.
“All who bite the finger that feeds them must have blood in their meal.”
In the comment section of the post, Dokubo described the situation between Chinwo and EeZee Tee as “nonsense that has been on for over a year.”.
She added that “the more I am silent, the more lies are spread.”.
Dr. Roy David, Chinwo’s music producer, earlier accused EeZee Tee of maltreatment, arguing that the record label boss withheld his financial gains after he produced ‘Excess Love’ and other hit tracks of the singer.
